Make this rich, tangy blue cheese dip from scratch in just five minutes. It is the perfect cold dip for chicken wings, fresh vegetables, or chips, making it an essential game day snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the crumbled blue cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, and black pepper into a medium bowl.
  2. Use a fork or a hand mixer to combine the ingredients until the dip is mostly smooth but still has small chunks of blue cheese remaining for texture.
  3. Taste the dip and adjust seasoning if needed. Add more lemon juice for tang or pepper for spice.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the blue cheese dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Chilling allows the flavors to blend.
  5. Serve cold with buffalo wings, carrot sticks, celery, or your favorite tortilla chips.

Notes

  • For a thicker dip, reduce the mayonnaise slightly or use full-fat sour cream.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, blend all ingredients in a food processor until completely smooth.
  • This recipe works well as a Wingstop style dip replacement.
