Make the best homemade burger sauce that tastes like popular fast-food special sauce. This creamy, tangy condiment is ready in five minutes and perfect for smash burgers, fries, and sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt to the bowl.
  3. Whisk all ingredients together until the sauce is completely smooth and uniform in color.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the burger sauce in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  6. Use this special sauce generously on your smash burgers, as a fry dip, or on any sandwich.

Notes

  • For a Big Mac sauce copycat flavor, add 1 teaspoon of finely minced white onion to the mixture.
  • If you prefer a tangier sauce, increase the white vinegar by one teaspoon.
  • This sauce tastes best after chilling for at least one hour, but it is ready to use immediately if you are in a hurry.
