Make perfectly crisp cinnamon sugar pecans using only five simple pantry ingredients. This oven-baked recipe is quick to prepare and results in crunchy, sweet roasted nuts ideal for snacking or holiday gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white and water together until slightly frothy.
  3. Add the pecan halves to the egg white mixture. Toss them gently until all the pecans are lightly coated.
  4. In a separate small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the coated pecans. Toss again until the pecans are evenly covered with the sugar mixture.
  6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not let them touch.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes to prevent burning and promote even crisping.
  8. Remove the pecans from the oven. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become crisp as they cool.
  9. Store your crunchy snack recipes in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg white mixture before coating the nuts.
  • If you want a slightly deeper color, add 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg to the sugar and cinnamon blend.
  • To keep these no sticky pecans, spread them out immediately after baking and do not stack them until fully cooled.
