Ingredients
Scale
1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Place the trimmed green beans on the prepared baking sheet.
Drizzle the green beans with olive oil. Toss them gently to coat every bean evenly.
Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the beans. Toss again to distribute the seasonings.
Spread the green beans into a single layer on the baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary to promote crisping.
Roast for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until the beans are tender-crisp and slightly browned.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot green beans. The residual heat will slightly melt the cheese.
Toss lightly to coat. Serve immediately as an easy side dish.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes before roasting.
If you prefer a softer bean, increase the roasting time by 3 to 5 minutes, checking frequently to prevent burning.
This recipe is excellent for holiday side recipes, especially Thanksgiving.
