Make this bright, herby, and creamy dill dip quickly using fresh dill, sour cream, and cream cheese. It is a perfect, low-effort appetizer for parties, game day, or serving with vegetables and crackers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)

Instructions

  1. Combine the sour cream and softened cream cheese in a medium bowl. Mix them together until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Stir in the fresh dill, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. If you are using mayonnaise, add it now and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Taste the dip and adjust seasonings if needed.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  5. Serve cold with fresh vegetables, crackers, or pretzels.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, use fresh dill instead of dried dill.
  • If you plan ahead, chilling the dip overnight deepens the herb flavor.
  • You can substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt for a tangier, slightly lighter dip.
  • This recipe is a great alternative to heavier dips like seven layer dip.
