Make this simple, creamy Buckeye Fudge that captures the classic chocolate and peanut butter flavor combination. This no-bake recipe is quick to prepare and perfect for holiday gatherings or satisfying a sweet craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 7 ounces sweetened condensed milk (half of a 14-ounce can)
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and creamy peanut butter together until smooth.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until fully combined and the mixture is thick.
  5. Press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Place the pan in the refrigerator while you prepare the topping.
  6. In a medium, microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and 2 tablespoons of butter.
  7. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. This creates your chocolate ganache topping.
  8. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the peanut butter layer in the pan. Spread it evenly to cover the entire surface.
  9. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 3 hours, or until firm enough to cut.
  10. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into small squares.

Notes

  • For the best texture, ensure your butter is truly softened, not melted.
  • If you prefer a sweeter fudge, you can substitute milk chocolate chips for semi-sweet in the topping.
  • Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
