Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
1/4 cup red onion, finely minced
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt (taste first, as salmon is salty)
Optional: Everything bagel seasoning for topping
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
Add the chopped smoked salmon, lemon juice, horseradish, dill, capers, red onion, black pepper, and salt to the bowl.
Use a hand mixer or a sturdy spoon to combine all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Do not overmix.
Taste the dip and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more lemon juice or pepper as desired.
Transfer the smoked salmon dip to a serving bowl.
Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Before serving, sprinkle the top with extra dill or everything bagel seasoning, if using.
Serve your easy smoked salmon dip with crackers, bagel chips, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
If you are using homemade smoked salmon, ensure it is fully cooled before mixing it into the dip.
For a tangier flavor, substitute half of the cream cheese with plain Greek yogurt.
This dip pairs excellently with smoked salmon crostini bases for an elegant appetizer presentation.
