Ingredients
Scale
1 pound bulk breakfast sausage
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies (Rotel), undrained
Instructions
Brown the breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease completely.
Reduce the heat to low. Add the softened cream cheese and the can of diced tomatoes and green chilies (Rotel) to the skillet with the sausage.
Stir the mixture constantly until the cream cheese is fully melted and all ingredients are combined into a smooth, hot dip.
Transfer the sausage cream cheese dip to a small slow cooker or serving dish to keep warm. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or crackers.
Notes
For a thicker dip, drain the liquid from the can of diced tomatoes and green chilies before adding them to the skillet.
You can substitute spicy sausage for regular breakfast sausage to increase the heat level.
To make this a Crock Pot sausage dip, combine all ingredients in a small slow cooker and cook on low for 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally until smooth.
